I've been a physical therapist for more than 35 years now, and spent most of my career working in rehabilitation and long-term care settings.
During that time, I met countless people facing serious health challenges that often didn't have to happen.
I saw the devastating effects of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease ~ and the loss of independence they could lead to. And I couldn't help but wonder:
What if we could back up the story?
What if they had been given the opportunity to make different choices years earlier?
That's what led me to become a plant-based health coach.
Instead of waiting until people become seriously ill and in need of long-term care, it's my hope to connect with them sooner and help them create better health ~ through the power of plants.
Here's something important for you to know:
I didn't always eat this way.
Like you, I knew vegetables were healthy. I understood the benefits of plant-based eating. But I also loved ice cream and cheese. A lot. These were the dairy foods I grew up with here in Wisconsin.
I remember thinking that plant-based eating sounded great in theory, but I wasn't convinced it could actually work in real life.
Over time, though, I discovered something that changed everything:
Plant-based eating doesn't have to be about restriction.
It really can be delicious.
And it’s not as hard as I used to think.
It’s really quite doable.
And seriously, it can even be fun.
Over the years, I've learned how to make plant-based eating work in restaurants, while traveling, at holidays, family gatherings, and in all the other situations that make people wonder if this lifestyle is really possible.
The good news for you is that you don't have to spend years figuring it all out on your own.
I've already done much of that trial and error for you.
I've discovered what works, what doesn't, and how to make healthy plant-based food enjoyable and sustainable in all kinds of real-life situations.
As your coach, my role is simple:
I ENCOURAGE you when self-doubt starts creeping in and help you build belief in what's possible.
I EDUCATE you about plant-based eating and how to use food as a tool to create better health.
And ultimately, I EMPOWER you to confidently continue this lifestyle ~ even long after our coaching together is over.
Because the goal isn't for you to need me forever.
The goal is for you to learn how to create health for yourself.
It's really you and the plants doing the work.
I'm simply here to help bridge the gap between where you are today and where you'd like to be.
